Tickets Email piping and supporting OAuth connections

We are looking to retire a legacy ticket handling system that has been working fine, but due to changes in authentication requirements, the email handling will not work with just username and password. In this particular example, the business ops use Google Workspace and there is a mailbox for incoming support requests that we feed into our teams dashboard as well as a ticket system.

Are there any plans to extend the tickets addon to support OAuth in the email piping functions? If it's not on the roadmap for upcoming features, is this something that we could sponsor for improvements?

We have a temporary solution in place within Workspace for the time being.
