Technically those two states aren't the same, because you can close a ticket without resolving it. But I can live with that if there is only one term for it throughout the system.Closed is actually renamed to 'Resolved' within Tickets.
That would bring even more confusion...I'm also toying with the idea of marking tickets as resolved once a staff member has replied.
