I had only one ticket for testing. I closed it and later reopened it. I don't know if it was shown as "1" before (haven't paid attention then) but now currently, the category view shows "2" tickets... But in fact, there is only 1 at all.
....it seems to have to do with "Close/Open" tickets function. Every time I close one and open it again, it adds one count to the total... which it should not...
