Calendar Automatically create thread in forum disables creating new posts in that forum

I love that your calendar automatically creates threads in forums for a new event. Thats super useful.

When auto posting is enabled thought it changes a forums 'Post Thread' button into a 'Create Event' button. I can't have it killing new forum posts. I'd like for events to appear alongside of regular discussions.

Can somebody point out where that logic is happening so I can make the 'Create Event' button appear NEXT TO the 'Post Thread' if auto posting is enabled for a calendar?
