Tickets Massive increase on deferred.php consumption after latest version of tickets

I am not certain if this is caused by Tickets or not, but tickets is the only addon upgrade I installed on the 9th and since then I am seeing massive performance issues related to deferred.php tasks / consumption.

Did anything change for tickets in this regards? For example with the new way escalations are handled?
