Consider separating start time / end time from dates.
As it stands, for a 2 day event to fill the calendar, it needs to start at 00:01 AM on the 1st and end at 23:59 on the 2nd.
However, the actual event may be a 2 day long seminar from 2 PM to 5 PM on the 1st and 2nd days.
This can be accomplished by adding custom fields, but it's not eye appealing on the monthly/weekly calendar as it puts it "all day". Additionally, if someone downloaded the calendar to their phones, the times would be off.
