Calendar Create Thread Post when Editing an Event

When editing an event (static or recurring), and the event is associated with a discussion thread, then automatically create a thread post informing of the changes.
Eg.
The following changes were made to this event ...
  • Title changed from "ABC" to "XYZ"
  • Location changed from "Home" to "Work"
  • End Time changed from "17:00" to "21:00"
This will be great to provide a sort of audit log to changes (especially for recurring events), allow for discussion of the changes, etc.

I implemented something similar for watchers and people RSVP'd but I've now expanded it to posts in discussion threads. So to sum up, changes to events will now send alerts to RSVP's (going/might be going), watchers and will create a post in the thread by whoever posted the event.

I'm not getting an event change post in the thread in v2.3.1. Haven't tested alerts to RSVP's and watchers.
Have I missed a configuration setting/option?
