Calendar Showcase Item Field support

Is it possible to select a custom Item Field from Showcase to the calendar.
Example:
I have a Item Field for the birthday of a cat.
If a member is adding the cat to Showcase the Field Birthday is required , can it than be visible in the calendar?

This would actually be fairly straightforward to do. I'd need to look in to a good way to expose this in the Admin Panel though. I'll have a play with it.

It’s on the todo list but focus is currently on fixing last few pesky bugs in the XF1 version and tidying up the XF2 version.

What @Edwin is requesting is essentially a relational field. This would be a neat feature that could be reused in many ways.
