Is Rosters Dead?

Not that I want to put more workload onto @NixFifty I just want to know if this will still carry on sometime, because it is still something I would need. Especially in a "Club" environment.

Nope, I’ve got a new version in testing that is almost ready to be deployed but as you know I’ve been swamped with my other projects and some work stuff.

I’m hoping to push it out in the next couple of weeks though, sooner rather than later.

Please tell me that this new version is ready? I am truly in need of the updated version for our gaming community website! It is quite important for us!

@NixFifty I don't mean to be a pain, but is there anyway that the next version of Rosters can be rolled out? There are some things that we need to have with the update that will surely assist us in moving forward with our site...

No worries, I can certainly understand that. I’m busy with some other commitments at the moment till around Tuesday-ish but after that, I’ll be looking to release Rosters within the two week period following that.

The next update is effectively a new product (though people who purchased the original Rosters addon will get it for no additional charge). There’s a lot of moving parts in this version so I’m not keen on releasing it till I’m back to normal availability so I can support it properly.

My normal availability will resume after Tuesday and a Rosters release (at least a beta) within the next two weeks once I’m caught up with stuff. I’ll try and push a beta out sooner since, off the top of my head, most of the add-on is completed but I never got round to releasing.

New product in the sense that it will not have the same functionality? Or just packed with new ways of doing the same thing...

It’s rewritten from the ground up to be more efficient, hook in with some of my other (upcoming) products and just be a lot more refined. Overall, it’ll have the same functionality and then some improvements and additions on top of that.

With the new release of Roster, @NixFifty will I be able to update the current version, or will I have to do a complete fresh install of the addon? I don't want my S1 Staff to put alot of time and effort into adding our membership to the current roster only to have to start over with the new plugin. Also, is it possible for you to further elaborate on the additional features that can be expected with the new rosters addon?

I'd recommend just holding off for now since the next version will build out your rosters based on user groups rather than manually having to add every single individual. That's one of the more significant feature / change.

It will make it much simpler to add members to the roster, but for us - the portrait system as well as the Time in Grade fuction (time that a user has had a specific rank, as opposed to Time in Service; of which is also of significant importance) would be rather critical additions for us... Frankly, we are looking forward to the new update with great anticipation!

Sorry, been a bit under the weather. Still working on the update, got a few more bugs to squash and should be good to go.
